it’s alive!
The words seem to be flowing right now. I’m not sure why, but I’m getting them down as much as I can. I’ve started a new story, not part of the Fathers and Sons cycle, but one I pretty much see wholly. I have a certain magazine in mind for it; their call for submission seems to match what I’m trying to do. Maybe that’s the motivation: a deadline. It’s good to be writing something, anything again.
Update 12NOV14 – I’ve reread what I’ve written. It’s crap. I give up. Back to the slough of despond for me.

It spilled in your direction after all. Huzzah!

I’m not sure which is worse.
Having written something, only to discover one thinks it’s “crap,” or to sit day after day with nothing on the page except a working title and the Chapter One header. I mean not. one. word. To this end, I envy you. You at least put down words.
Don’t let the despondency drive out your ideas. What’s going on with the Father And Son work?

Indy – It was short lived.
Donna – The Fathers and Sons stories are pretty much becalmed now too. I make occasional notes, but I can’t seem to write a word. Maybe I need medication.

Maybe.
But before you go there…have you considered writing something completely different? I.e. a new genre? You write lit fiction. Try something new. All three books I’ve done are different. Lit Fiction, Commercial, and the latest, suspense. A change in genre just might be what you need to fire up your furnace again. Try it. See what happens.
